Philosophy

In the world today there are numerous religions in one form or another who in their own way worship their form of God. The thing is though does God really exist or did humanity create the concept of God as way of coping with the world So long as there has been recorded history there has existed the human concept of other worldly being capable of influencing the state of affairs here on Earth. This belief has ranged from the spirits in the elements of the Earth, the spirits of dead ancestors and greatest of all is the concept of God as a spiritual entity that is the benefactor of human kind. Most religions in their various texts such as the Torah of Judaism, the Koran of Islam and the Bible of Christianity have all stated the early encounters of people with God and how through his intercession they were supposedly guided and saved. In most of the texts involved the influence of God is clearly scene in numerous instances where he either helps or punishes people. Fast forwarding to the present time period and most miracles of God have apparently dried up, there no miraculous events that seem to have occurred due to some divine intervention, there isnt a sepulchral voice emanating from the clouds informing us that God is there and lately all people have to discuss about his past action with next to nothing about present day action. It stands to reason that if God had acted in the past in a direct way with his followers why doesnt he do so today It must be noted that in the past people had the tendency of explaining perfectly normal environmental occurrences as the supposed work of the divine. Greek society attributed storms and bad weather to the anger of Zeus while the Egyptians believed that it was due to the God Set that the sky rose and fell during the day. Such occurrence are easily explained away as mere past ignorance as to how the world was. As such it can be said that the concept of God for many might just be a method of explaining the nature of events that has undergone so many incarnations that the story took on a life of its own and was exaggerated so many times that the current concept of God is one of fanciful human imagination brought on by oral and written tradition that was since the onset created by minds geared towards fanciful imaginings. What this paper will seek to do is try to show the elements that prove disprove the existence of God and by the end of the paper come out with an effective answer to the question of Gods existence.

God in the Present Day
When conducting an examination as to the existence of God on of the best ways to do so is to first take a look around. In the world today there are increasing levels on criminal activity where more and more people die due to crimes ever year. Women are raped, men are short, children starve and the rest of the world merely sits on its thumbs watching the news and doing nothing as the world as we know it descends into chaos. When it comes to interpretation of God by most people he is supposedly a benefactor of mankind who is supposedly there to help us in our times of need. With an ever worsening world where is God to help us Proponents of factions believing in the existence of God from a Christian perspective state that due to God giving humanity the greatest gifts in the universe namely that of free will he has enabled people to make their own decisions and will not interfere since it is their right to live life the way they choose. That even if the world does descend into chaos it was by brought about through the folly of man and thus not something he can interfere with directly even though he can due to the fact that he wants to respect the right of humanity to free will. The thing is though there are instances in the bible wherein God has interfered in certain parts of a humanitys history namely that of the great flood, the escape from Egypt and the birth of Jesus Christ. It doesnt quite make much sense that he was willing to interfere then for the good of humanity and doesnt wish to do so now. It can also be considered that with the aforementioned events the hand of God in them might not have existed at all and that it was added in afterwards in order to create to hike up the image of God to the many followers so to speak. 

God and Science
The existence of God has yet to be proven beyond the shadow of a doubt by science. In most cases of trying to find proof of his existence science has turned up nothing. Science with all its past accomplishments and discoveries that have given us views of entire galaxies, that have sent men to the moon and have created all of todays modern conveniences have yet to see any evidence as to the existence of God. There is one thing though that science has yet to properly explain that seems to be definitive proof as to the existence of God.  The Big Bang was supposedly an event where a tiny singularity composed of pure energy found itself at the heart of a vast dark void that after a serious of internal imbalances finally collapsed upon itself and created a massive explosion that resulted in the creation of the Universe as we see it today. The thing is though something cannot come out of nothing. There must have been something to create that tiny singularity composed of energy. With this in mind people have suggested that the cause was the influence of God creating the universe for the first time. With science being unable to prove otherwise how a vast void of nothingness was able to produce a tiny ball of energy that eventually became the universe the origin of everything as we know it today can then be assumed to have been the cause of something creating that ball of energy and that something, cited by most groups is God.

Existence of God
From what was stated it can be assumed then than since something cannot come from nothing and that the universe was a vast expanse of nothingness then there was must have been something there originally that created the singularity that gave birth to the universe and apparently that something is God. The thing is though even if the Big Bang theory proves that there must have been something to create the conditions of the Big Bang it doesnt mean that all the literature about God that has been written is actually accurate. It could just be that God acted only once and after which left the universe to its own devices. As such any written literature on him might have merely been the cause of a story about the origins of the world itself taking on a life of its own that culminated in the creation of a belief in an entity that supposedly still influences that world to this day.

Though the Big Bang theory shows that it was through the actions of God that the universe was created this is still in the end just a theory. With no empirical evidence at the present and not actions visible by man in the current century it is hard to believe that there is a God out there. The thing is though maybe that is all that is needed in the end as most religions seem to put it. Belief and faith in an unknown power that is there for own benefit that influences lives and guides people to an important destiny.
